Leona Lewis barreled out of the gate with the new single “Collide” last fall, but pressed pause on the whole project shortly thereafter — delaying her third album “Glassheart” until sometime in 2012.
This week, Lewis has revealed what is to be the second single from the album, “Trouble” co-written by Emeli Sandé and featuring Childish Gambino. The resulting collaboration is a pop song teeming with heartbreak and unsure emotions. The driving beat and urgent instrumentation create tension to match the gloomy lyrics. And the fresh vocals of Gambino add drama to finish the song off.
Have a listen:
What do you think? An improvement over “Collide“? Or a step in the wrong direction?
“Glassheart” is set to be released on the 12th of October… barring any further unforeseen delays.
Prepare yourself.
