First order of business, Kylie Minogue has yet ANOTHER greatest hits album coming out, celebrating 25 years of hits. Due out on the 4th of June, “The Best of Kylie Minogue” will feature 21 songs spanning her amazing career.
And now for the cream: Just a few short hours ago, Kylie dropped the mother of all surprises on us by premiering a brand new song AND a brand new video, entitled “Timebomb“.
Details are unclear if this is new material from a forthcoming new album, if this is your standard “new single” to tack onto the greatest hits collection, or if this is just a stand-alone track that she’s recorded. Regardless, let’s spend a little time listening to it over and over again, and carefully analyzing it:
Here are seven important observations that we’ve made:
1.) Kylie is a badass. Period.
2.) We would let Kylie steal our mobile phone if she shot a video like that.
3.) The car chase scene is also badass and especially made us smile when she high-5′s the guy.
4.) ”Why don’t you move your body to my body before we disappear” and “It’s not the end of the world, it’s the start of me and you” are both amazing lines.
5.) The “whoop” in the chorus is our favorite part.
6.) No one makes Kylie wait. For anything.
7.) This one song is better than 99% of the last Madonna album. And you know it’s true.
We have about a thousand thoughts other running through our heads regarding this, but we still need time to absorb it. We’ll leave you with this: After 25 years, to release a song/video like this is the sign of an artist’s true longevity… and we’re definitely looking forward to whatever else Kylie has up her sleeve.
For now, go download “Timebomb” as soon as possible and be sure to pick up her latest best of… collection next week.

LOVE this song as well as the other unreleased tkacrs intended for KM94 that have thus far only surfaced in snippet form. Here’s to hoping that Kylie’s 25th anniversary celebration sees the release of these gems. It’s senseless to keep them languishing in the vaults when there is considerable fan interest in them; they also brilliantly showcase her voice and show an important phase of her musical evolution.
