We love us some Sam Sparro around here, so it was a very exciting day to discover that his new single, “Happiness” has hit the internets.

It’s an authentic soul/funk/disco/pop/dance anthem explosion. With music currently trending its way out of the 80′s electro-synthpop movement into the early 90′s dance scene — which at the time was a recreation of the soul/funk/disco/pop/dance craze of the late 70′s — this is a perfect example of how paying homage to a legendary time in music with a modern twist can work.

We’ve been waiting patiently for Sparro‘s full-up to his 2008 self-titled dance-a-thon, so with this new slice of amazingness all we can say is… Welcome back, Sam.
