The Ting Tings released a single last year entitled “Hand” – from their then-rumored sophomore album, thought to be called “Kunst”. After the success of their debut, the world was excited to hear new material. But “Hands” was all we got. Time passed and The Ting Tings continued with their endless touring, premiering new songs, but made very little mention of a new album…

In late October, their anticipated album was scrapped, but a new song and video surfaced instead, entitled “Hang It Up“.  In true Ting Tings form, it’s stripped-down, hard, and punchy. Once the chorus kicks in, the song has you in its clutches.

I love it.

“Hands” is a good song, but showed no progression. “Hang It Up” is exciting, and has me looking forward to the release of their album, the title now updated to “Songs from Nowheresville” and confirmed for February 2012.
