Local Flavor: BEARSTRONAUT

This is... BEARSTRONAUT

In keeping with the local feel of today’s offerings, let me introduce you to an excellent band called BEARSTRONAUT. Formed in 2007, these guys are a mix of synth-pop/dance-rock from the Boston suburbs and they certainly know how to rock the live dance party scene. I saw them recently at a local concert hall and I can’t tell you how well they worked the vibe of the place. You clearly had to have been dead to not feel the beat of their music.

My clear favorite off their new EP, “Satisfied Violence” is the slow-burning “Moniker“. It’s a very hip, trippy song with an incredible beat. The energetic opening morphs into a solid mid-tempo tune, but by the time they hit the bridge, the song shifts into high gear and then just takes off.

Have a listen:

Good, right?

With such a heavy focus on the Lady Gaga’s and the Britney Spear’s of the mainstream music scene, it’s important to support the local scene as well… where ever you are! You never know, you may be discovering a band that’s on the edge of something big…

So take a moment to check out BEARSTRONAUT, and be sure to pick up their new EP, which is out now.
